Dubuque Engagement Photography

Congratulations on your engagement!

One of the major reasons why taking engagement photos is totally worth it, is because you will get to meet your wedding photographer and build a trustworthy rapport with them. On the wedding day, your photographer will be with you for so many hours, so having someone you feel comfortable around is a huge advantage.

We’d love to capture your proposal!  We’ll put a special video together of your proposal to share with your family & friends. Remember it forever!

Why should I have engagement photos taken?

  1. Get to know your photographer

Your wedding photographer is more than just a camera and lens. This will be the person you spend the most time with the day of your wedding.  They will also help you with your timeline so it is essential to get to know them.  If you don’t have a good relationship then you may feel uncomfortable with them on your wedding day. An engagement session allows you to spend time with your photographer.
  2. Build trust & confidence in your photographer.

Wedding photography is a major investment and is generally 10% of your wedding cost.  You should already have a good idea of the style of your photographers images & products but many couples have difficulty envisioning their OWN photos could look like.  An engagement session will give you a clearer vision for what your wedding images will look like.
  3. Get comfortable in front of the camera.

Most of us aren’t models that know who to pose.  Your photographer will guide you through natural posing and artistic images.  This experience will help you eliminate any nerves about photography on your wedding day.
  4. Express yourself

This is the perfect time to get beautiful, flattering photos taken of the two of you just being your unique selves.
  5. Capture the moments of your engagement.

Your engagement is a time of transition; shifting from a dating couple, planning a wedding together, and becoming man & wife. This happy, exciting time, but won’t last forever.  Embrace this time by preserving the memories of just the two of you before your life gets even crazier.
  6. Focus on YOU

Sometimes is hard to find time for just the two of you.  Your engagement session will allow you two to connect in a very special way that will be captured in photos.
  7. Create portraits of the two of you in regular clothing.

Your wedding photos will be cherished forever, but having professional portraits of the two of you in everyday clothes gives you additional images that you can use in so many different ways.
  8. You’ll get images for use at your wedding.

This is probably the reason so many couples have engagement photos taken.  Save the date cards, thank you notes, wedding website, a guest book; so many important aspects of your wedding planning!

If you have decided that you want to have amazing engagement photos taken, I would LOVE to be the one to help check that off your list for you!  I‘ll get back to you right away to talk about your plans and to help you get your engagement photography booked!
